At October 5 sitting, the initiative aimed at reducing the outflow of the employees from the state system and raising the attractiveness of working in the state system.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan, the Government expands the scope of the social package services also in two services by the amendments being proposed to the RA law on Remuneration of the Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions presented in the first reading.

As the Deputy Minister has informed, it is designed to address the means being located for the social package to make use of the services of the sports health and sport complexes, swimming pools and other sport organizations and covering the student’s loans by state subsidy.

Expansion of the scope of the beneficiaries is not designed by the draft law. Ruben Sargsyan has clarified that the amendment refers to the persons holding state, but not political position: the high ranking officials are not beneficiaries of the social package.

The Chair of the Standing (Head) Committee on Labor and Social Affairs Heriknaz Tigranyan presented the endorsement of the Committee. According to her, the initiative does not design increase of the financial overload on the budget.

As a result of voting, the draft law was passed in the first reading.
